FAQ

  • What does the course cover?

This course will teach you how to draw a different flower each day for 31 days. Along with an instructional video for each flower flower, there is information about the history of each flower, where it appears in famous artworks, the season of bloom, and how to use it in bouquets etc. There are even printable posters you can download and use as artwork.

  • Can I share the course with my friends?

Video content is meant for use in a single household. If you are interested in extended use in a classroom, school, or multiple households at a discount, please email us at [email protected]! Please note that this course, which includes downloadable files (templates & printables) is non-refundable and non-returnable.

  • What materials do I need?

You will need a device to access the instructional videos and something to draw with. You can choose something as simple as paper and pencil, as shown in the videos or you can supplement the materials and draw digitally, paint, use markers, etc. The possibilities are endless!

  • How will this differ from the flower a day drawing challenge from a few years ago?

Learn to Draw: Flowers was first conceived as a daily flower drawing challenge on YouTube. We’ve received requests over the years to make the experience more streamlined and easier to navigate so we compiled the videos onto an educational platform. We’ve added in background information on each flower’s history and meaning, tips about styling the real flowers in bouquets, and never-before-released printable posters. It’s a true flower lover’s haven!

  • What age is the course designed for?

This course is designed for budding artists and someone who wants to add to their daily-creative practice. There is something for everyone, ages 9-99 (though younger kids might also enjoy it!).

  • How much time does the course take to complete?

There are 31 chapters within the Learn to Draw: Flowers course. Each chapter features a different flower including a short video, about 5 minutes long, and a pdf with additional information about each flower. Originally designed as a flower-a-day course, you could add it to your daily creative practice or you can watch the course in a week! The pacing truly depends on how much you want to give it each day -- it's up to you how you'd like to structure it. The course never expires so you can also refer back to it.

  • Do you offer scholarships?

Yes! Please email us at [email protected] if you or someone you know would love to take the class but is not in a position to do so. We have various types of scholarships according to budget and need.

  • Who made the course?

This course was written by the team at The House That Lars Built under the direction of Brittany Jepsen. Brittany has an MA in Interior Design and a BA in Art History and has built an award-winning craft and design site called the House That Lars Built since 2008. Flowers have always played a major role in Brittany’s life and work, from the giant paper flowers for her wedding to teaching people how to use flowers to make an artful life. This course is the culmination of her interests and passions.
